Hayride

We went to another hayride with my mom and dad while they were here. It was a lot of fun- they had a playground with storybook themed pumpkin people and scenes painted onto wood. They also had animals to look at and a corn maze, but it was too muddy to go through that. The boys got to play while we waited for our turn and again after we were done. The hayride itself was great! They took us around the property to various Halloween 'scenes' and because of all the rain, through lots and lots of mud. It got up to a couple feet deep in places.

It was a great deal- only $3 a person, and we went out for pizza afterwards.

Do you recognize the Flintstone's?

Hayride and Pumpkin Patch

This past Saturday, our friends the Livingstons invited us to come with them on a hayride at a local farm. It was so much fun!I've never been to one before, where you get to go and pick out a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, and the boys loved it. We also got to pick turnips, take and feed them to some sheep and pigs, and then we got to go to a pumpkin patch and let the boys pick out a pumpkin. Nathan enjoyed it so much that he woke up this morning asking to go on a "horsy-ride" again! Also, Fall is at it's peak and it was awesome to spend an afternoon enjoying all the colors in the country. I grew up in the country so I felt at home there.

A Blustery Day...

The cold winds have been almost relentless here in Ohio for the past several days, but they boys had a great idea yesterday. Why not go fly our kites? So we piled in the car and headed over to the park by our neighborhood. (We could have walked, but I didn't want to get stuck in the rain, as it looked like it was threatening again.) We had a fun time! We haven't flown kites for quite awhile and it was a good way to make something good out of all this wind.

To My Wonderful Eternal Companion...

Happy Birthday! We had a great day celebrating. We got to go have lunch with him, and his manager even let him off a little early. We had his favorite dinner, lasagna, and then went shopping. It was my first time seeing a Macy's here in the East/ Midwest (whatever you call it out here). It was huge!! It was at least double the size of the ones in Utah, and had a great selection, of course. I made a note to myself to come back by myself on another day. ;) We got back late, so decided to postpone opening gifts until the next morning, but still had the ice cream cake from Dairy Queen, after Josh insisted. The next morning the boys wrapped the gifts all by themselves, and we had a his favorite breakfast of Strawberry Creamcheese Crepes. They really should be a dessert crepe, but we only have them on Father's Day and Sean's birthday, so it's okay.

We love you Sean! Thank you for all that you do, and for being such a wonderful husband and father. We couldn't be more blessed!
