Hike to Round Vally- Memorial Day

We spent a nice, warm Memorial Day morning hiking the 5 mile loop at Round Valley with the Fox family. Everyone did great! Emma hiked the entire thing, and Josh helped take turns with the backpack Lydia was riding in.

5th Grade vs Staff Kickball

Nathan and his fellow 5th graders took on the undefeated Loma Vista Staff in the annual Kickball game. I thought the kids did a great job, especially Nathan who had a great kick for a RBI and caught a fly ball later in the inning. The Staff was not about to play easy however and they loaded the infield, dove for balls and played hard. The 5th graders lost by two points. They had a lot of fun though and are really enjoying their last few days of elementary school!

Pinewood Derby

Nathan and Isaac had a fun time at the Pinewood Derby this year. They designed their cars, Sean cut them out, then they painted them. Unfortunately Nathan's cracked apart when the weights were going in, and so he raced his shark car. They both did really well racing! I recruited a couple of moms to help me make some fun treats and Bro. Milne and the other cub leaders did a great job putting in on. Everyone had a great time.

Isaac's Field Trip

I got picked to join Isaac's class on their field trip to the City Water Treatment Facility. It was actually a really fun event. They had set up stations for over 900 3rd graders from around town to come and learn about the different services that the city does. After I took my group of four kids around to the stations, we went and watched the show. They had an entertainer juggle and talk about recycling, and then the kids got to watch to tractors compete to see who could do a puzzle the fastest. Afterwards we sat on the lawn and ate lunch. It was a great field trip!

Nathan's Spring Band Concert

Nathan has done such a great job learning to play the trombone in band this year. It was amazing to listen to his band and how much they've improved since last Fall. He's really excited to go to middle school and be in the sixth grade band next year!

Mother's Day

My family spoiled me this year. Sean sent me to go get a massage and surprised me by sending me flowers. I also got to spend a morning with Isaac at his school. His teacher planned a wonderful "Moms and Muffins" event. We had muffins and juice, Isaac gave me his present, and their class recited a cute poem for us. It was very special!

Lydia gets her cast off

Lydia was such a trooper! She was amazingly brave as they took her cast off today. They took it off, bandaged it for a few minutes as we waited for the doctor to come in and take the pins out, (which was good, because I got light-headed when I saw them), and didn't even move or make a noise when they pulled them out. They wrapped it afterwards, and she pulled off the bandage herself that evening when she was tired of it. Her arm is all better!

Nathan's Baseball Season

Nathan is having an awesome baseball season! He's the best pitcher on his team and one of the best in the league. He's an awesome second baseman and is getting much better at hitting. He's a lot of fun to watch!

Six Flags Band Competition

Grandma and Grandpa Frome came to visit from Oregon for the weekend to see the girls play soccer, Nathan play baseball, and to see Josh's Six Flags band competition. They all rocked it! The games were won and Josh's band won 6 awards, the highest in every division they qualified for. We ended with a fun evening at Six Flags.
