A couple of times a week I do some "Mommy School" activities with the girls. It's nothing really big, but the girls love it. I've put together a file over the years with activities in it that work on colors, numbers, shapes and letters. I like to little crafts with them, and mostly play games that teach them the things they should know before Kindergarten. It's amazing how fast they pick up on things. The other day I got a little wild and pulled out the paints. Hannah did a beautiful water color painting and Emma went to town with the finger paints. There are so many blessings that come with being a mom and this is one of them. Getting to play with your kids!

Big day at school
The kids came home pretty excited today! Nathan lost another tooth, which is always fun at school because you get a little tooth box to put it in. Isaac got another Hawk Runner award at the assembly. He and Josh are some of the top runners at the school.

Tree Climbers
One thing that our boys LOVE to do is climb trees! Sean took this picture the other day as the boys were getting higher and higher in this tree in front of our house. Their lack of fear makes a little nervous, but I'm glad our boys love adventure!

JA BizTown
I got to go a volunteer at Josh's big JA BizTown field trip. This organization focuses on teaching kids life skills specifically around finances and business. The kids prepared for weeks to be able to set up and run a business for a day. The interviewed for a job, learned how much money they would need to borrow from the bank, and what their individual responsibilities would be. They also learned about setting up a checking account, how to keep and balance a checkbook and about how to spend their money in different ways, (cash, check, debit card). Pretty cool.
The day off I and the other parents got their 45 minutes early to set up and help supervise. I helped in the International sign company. Josh was in City Hall working as an IRS agent for the day. The kids got pay checks and got to open checking accounts at the bank and on their breaks got to go around to different businesses and buy things. They got to keep what they bought. I was amazed at how well they did...it was a lot to do in one day! The goal for the day was to pay off the loan. Our business did it! Josh did a great job too! He worked really hard doing all of his responsibilities. At the end of these field trips I'm always so grateful for our own kids. They're all so smart and responsible and just get things done. Most of the kids in my business did a great job, but a couple had a hard time staying on task and doing their responsibilities. Sean and I are so proud of our kids!
Josh and I had a fun day and I'm grateful I got to be a part of it.

Trip to Pacific City
Matt and Carda invited us to go with them to the coast for a long weekend at the end of January. They found a wonderful house in Pacific City to stay in. They couldn't have picked a better weekend, especially in January. The weather was perfect! It was clear skies, warm and hardly any wind. We spent a lot of time outside on the beach, enjoying the sand, the tide pools, the big sand dune to climb, playing catch and just simply playing with cousins. It was a great time to relax, have fun and not worry about the time. The house had a fun game room with a pool table and arcade games. We also watch movies on the 70" TV. It was a wonderful weekend!
