Hannah worked on this report all month. We went to the library and did some research, she wrote up a report and then she put together this little diorama at school. She finished by doing presentation for all the parents who were invited to come see them one morning. She did a fantastic job!

Beads of Courage
I’m posting a few days late, but we started phase three on Friday! This phase will mean a dose of two different types of chemo through her port every ten days, as long as her numbers recover enough before each appointment. If not they’ll delay it for four days and check again. We’ll do this five times. The best part is no more meds at home besides an antibiotic on Monday’s and Tuesday’s. It hit me when our home care nurse said that we’ve been doing this for two months that we’re one third of the way through this first six months of treatment!
Lydia is feeling so much better! She’s almost completely recovered from the steroids. She’s walking and running, riding her scooter again and even carefully going up and down the stairs. Her sweet personality is back with her funny sense of humor. It’s wonderful to hear her laugh and sing again!
These pictures are of her beads of courage necklace they gave her at the hospital on Friday. She was actually excited to put it together, just not to have her picture taken. 😊 She got a bead for every test, procedure, “round of chemo”, IV, dressing change, steroids, surgery, etc. that she’s gone through. She got FIFTY-THREE beads. She worked on it while we were waiting for her chemo. You can see her port accessed just above her collar. They access it at the clinic to draw labs and give her chemo, and de-access before we go home. She’s been great with getting it accessed- the worst part is getting the dressing pulled off when they take it off.
Thanks again for all of your support and prayers! We feel so blessed with how things are going. We’ve settled into our “new normal” and our family is doing well.

Riding her scooter again!
Lydia loves riding scooters and hasn't been able to since she got cancer. After we came home from grocery shopping today she got on one and rode around the garage on it. So exciting that she can do that again!

Port Surgery
Hanging out waiting for Lydia to go into surgery for her port a few minutes ago. She’s in remission and her other numbers are great so we’re starting phase 2 aka Consolidation today! This phase should be a lot easier. She’s recovering from the steroids- her temperament is pretty much back to her normal happy self, she’s eating normal again and the walking is slowly getting easier.
This month we’ll still go in weekly for treatments, but they’re giving us the week of Thanksgiving off!😊
