Another great soccer day!

Their faces when I asked them to smile.

It was another great soccer day! Nathan played a great game, and Josh scored his first TWO goals of the season! I'm sure the dollar incentive had nothing to do with it. ;) Ha, ha! Both of them were also selected to be team captains. It's so much fun to see them improve and play more aggresively, and especially to watch them have fun.

Another attempt at a photo of them smiling.

P.S. Notice the difference in the trees in the background? Cincinnati is green again!

Nathan's first goal!

Nathan scored his first goal on Saturday! I wish I could have gotten in on camera- he was so excited! He dribbled it down the field, got caught up in a bit of a jam by the goal, got the ball through and kicked it in! As he was lining up to wait for the kick-off he yelled to me, "Dad's going to give me a dollar!" Ha, ha!

Sean had promised the boys that if they scored a goal he would give them a dollar. Josh was really disappointed that he could not play this weekend because his game was on Sunday, but he's really excited for next Saturday.

Happy Birthday Nathan!

We celebrated Nathan's birthday on Saturday because Sean had to go on a business trip, and had to leave on Nathan's birthday. I let him open up his present from my parents and his card from Sean's parents on his actual birthday though, so he could talk to them about it when they called later that day. For dinner that night I took them to McDonald's. They love it because it has a play area.

On Saturday after Sean came back, and after Nathan's soccer game, we went to Chuck E. Cheese (requested every time of course) and then came home for cake and ice cream and presents.

Nathan is such a great kid. He so sweet tempered and is such a good brother and friend. He's a natural at sports and is very smart and is a quick learner. We love him so much!
Opening his card and gift.

P.S. For those who are curious, he's been doing very well with his diabetes. April 6th marked three years since he was diagnosed. We feel so blessed to have all the miracles modern medicine has produced. His insulin pump has lowered his A1c over a full point, and he's never got back into DKA or been hospitalized again, thanks to the new fast-acting insulins that we have now. Besides having to wear the pump and having his sugar levels read 5 times a day, (and yes, that still breaks my heart) he lives a normal and healthy life!

Easter 2010

We had a nice relaxing Easter weekend this year. We enjoyed beautiful weather, staying home and watching General Conference in the afternoons.

Easter morning with their baskets.

The Easter egg hunt in our backyard later that morning.
We invited some friends to join us.

Our tulips bloomed that morning! Perfect timing!

Spring Break

We spent a relaxing Spring Break at home this year. Sean's work has been busy so he only took Friday off, but I was able to do some fun things with the boys during the week. One day I took them to the zoo. I had forgotten to put the memory card in my camera, so I was only able to take a couple pictures. It was a beautiful day. We couldn't have asked for better weather during the week. Sunny and 75 degrees!
On another day we went to a park and took their bikes so we could go around the bike trail.

And of course we decorated Easter eggs one day. The boys chose to do chamo eggs this year. Isaac even participated!

On Friday, we decided to go look at swing sets, which we had promised to get the boys over a year ago, before we even went house shopping out here. We ended up purchasing this one, and are very happy with it, despite the fact it took us ALL DAY to put together. (They're not joking when they say 8-10 hours.) We're going to put wood chips down sometime this week, so we can hopefully lessen the amount of mud coming in the house. =)
