We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! We sure did. We had thoughts about going somewhere or camping or something like that, but in the end decided to stay home and go car shopping. We let the kids camp in the backyard. The weekend weather did not disappoint anyone expectations of being hot and muggy, so Sean and I decided to let the kids brave it on their own and we cracked open our bedroom window, expecting them to get scared of the dark and come in anyway. They stayed out there the whole night. Josh set up the tent with a little help from me, they got all the bedding themselves, and took out books and flashlights. Josh read to them for awhile, then they came in for a quick water/bathroom break, and then they stayed out there for good! We were impressed.
On Saturday Sean took the van in to get the breaks fixed and ended up buying a new car instead! I stayed home with the kids and enjoyed the Slip 'n Slide. Later that afternoon Sean came home and picked us up in this!
A Honda Odyssey. Most important feature: a DVD player! It also has more space and storage, so it'll be really nice for our road trip this summer!
Saying goodbye to the old van. Lots of memories. We drove from San Diego, California to New York in it. It was a great reliable car.
Last day of school. I dropped of Nathan so I could pick up all of his diabetes supplies (they filled two bags, I didn't realize he had so much) and took a picture of him in his classroom. Last day of kindergarten.
Getting off the bus and ready for summer!
Josh, after getting home. He was a little emotional getting off the bus, so I didn't take his picture then. He missed his friends.
That night we let the boys stay up and catch fireflies. I still think it's so cool that they can do this. I'd never seen a firefly till we came here to Ohio.
